OUR WINES

Cardinal Point red wine At Cardinal Point, our winemaker, Tim Gorman, is the Vineyard Manager as well. With over three decades of experience growing vitus vinifera vines at Cardinal Point, Tim's expertise as a grower shows up in the quality of his wines.

Tim takes great pains to ripen his fruit to the best quality possible... since he knows he'll be the one paying for any shortcomings in the winery! And although he will tell you that the best wines make themselves, he clearly enjoys expressing his creative side in the cellar, as evidenced by our very popular signature blends.

2018 St. Rosé

2019 Frai Rosé
This Cabernet Franc based rosé features residual sweetness thanks to an arrested primary fermentation. That is, the fermenting yeast were kept from converting ALL the sugar into alcohol. While the nose has mineral to Amaretto characteristics, the flavors are over the top strawberry and vanilla. This rosé features a light mouthfeel weight and welcome tartness near the finish to balance the sweet. Bottled fun!

2019 Rockfish Red
Bright, pretty garnet color. Aroma and flavor of Bing cherries, some strawberries, and even raspberries and cream. There's a silken mouthfeel. The round mid-palate is loaded with fruit and transitions to a smooth tannic finish that subtly increases, making you crave another sip.

2019 Green
This vintage returns to the original concept for our Green: 50% Petit Manseng and 50% Chardonnay juice, co-fermented, for a crisp, fruit-driven, dry wine. This year, however, both components of the wine were processed using stabulation, a pre-ferment process which pulls out more tropical tones from the fruit. Pair with cheese plates, summer salads, fried or spicy seafood.

2019 Chardonnay
100% Chardonnay, aged in older French oak barrels for a modest amount of time, our Chardonnay returns after taking the 2018 vintage off. The wine is dry and complex, featuring flavors of citrus, quince, and baked apple, with an interesting grassy component and great acidity for a clean mouthfeel. Toasted oak and vanilla peak near the finish with a lingering minerality on the end.
Retail Bottle Price: $26.00 - This wine is not yet available for retail sale. Wine club members can order wine before it is available to the general public.

2019 Hopped Chardonnay
This unique wine made with Chardonnay and Nelson Sauvin hops has a pleasing, grassy, tropical nose in the style of the New Zealand Sauvingnon blancs after which the hops are named. Lots of fruit through the mid-palate leads to a lovely mineral finish. Drink well-chilled. It will pair great with seafood (oysters in particular!) as well as cheeses, sushi and front porch conversations.
